CPD Training – ACT

In the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), real estate professionals are required to complete continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain their accreditation and stay up-to-date with industry standards.

Access Canberra mandates that licensees and certificate holders (Assistant Agents) complete set hours of CPD every CPD year to remain compliant with the regulations.

Every agent is required to complete 12 CPD points within a 12 month period. This is usually a combination of Category 2 (Elective – 4 points) plus Category 3 (Unit of Competency – 8 points).

Archer Institute offers a combined ACT and NSW CPD option to cover requirements for those agents registered in both ACT and NSW.

When is CPD due?

The CPD year for licence holders is 1 July through to 30th June which aligns with licence renewals.

The CPD year for certificate holders (Assistant Agents) is 1 November to 31st October.

Do I have to do CPD?

If you’re a property agent who holds a class 1 licence, class 2 licence or a certificate of registration (Assistant Agent), you must complete the CPD specified for your licence or certificate category each year.

What topics do I complete?

You must complete 12 points of CPD each year. Archer Institute offers a combination of Category 2 (4 points) and Category 3 (8 points) to meet these requirements.

Do I need to record anything?

Licence and certificate holders must retain their own records of all CPD they complete.

It is the licence or certificate holders responsibility to ensure they meet their mandatory CPD requirements every year.

Can I complete CPD online?

For students completing ACT CPD, you are able to complete online at your own pace.

However, for students who also wish to complete the NSW CPD components as your Category 2, this will need to be completed face to face to meet the requirements.

Archer Institute can come to your office to deliver CPD training.
